Q: iOS 9.3 - Safari/Mail freezes after clicking links on iPhone 6S

Hi,

Never had any problems with my iPhone 6S. Just upgraded to iOS 9.3 without any issues. After the upgrade, I can't click links when searching something on Google in Safari or clicking a link in the Mail, the apps just freeze.

I tried clearing Safari history data/cache, closing all apps and restarting the phone (both regular and holding both home/power key), disabling all sorts of settings form Safari settings, but no luck.. Anyone with an idea how to sort it out?

Same here. I'm over Apples terrible testing protocols. Sick and tired of my phone breaking every time Apple release a new iOS version.

I'm upgrading to Android as soon as I can!

Apple, please respond to this thread!  I have the exact same issue and it's very frustrating.  Safari and mail are useless now

Email and browser completely useless.  Great QA job by Apple.

LOL... "iOS 9.3 Apple's 'most stable new release in years,' app analytics firm finds"

Almost a week and no word from Apple except an ad in my mail advertising the iphone SE!  I understand that the engineering in these devices is incredibly complex and that this kind of bug is almost inevitable, but some more proactive customer relations would be nice. Tell us you are aware of the problem and give an estimate time for a fix. The lack of clickable links greatly reduces the utility of the device for me, and I suspect a large number of other users.

I my self am experiencing issues with the latest update to iOS 9.3. In my case my phone is freezing or experiencing a major delay on responding when I try to swipe out of an app or when using an app such as messages, maps, mail, eBay etc. Also I notice it freezes/delays when I try to power the device down by swiping the power button on the display screen. I hope Apple finds a fix to this issue as this is disrupting my daily work tasks .

Austria, vienna, 6S Plus. Same here. But I had the problem also before updating to 9.3.. Problems began a few days before updating. Best solution for me is to use "Dolphin Browser". There are also links that do not work, but then you can click 2 seconds on the link and open it in a new tab. That works.

countless other posts about this problem both on this community and on other web sites and in the international press and media

but Apple still give no indication of what they are doing about it and when normality might be achieved.

don't Apple realised the considerable damage this is doing to their reputation!

A propos: I have the issue not only on my iPhone 6s Plus, but also the same on my Macbook 12 with Safari and Google. Safari freezes when i click on some Links at google. I changed to bing, this works. So perhaps the failure is at Safari+Google and expands on iPhone to other website with links? I don`t know.

In addition to browser link dysfunction, my iPhone began losing storied information with 9.2.1   First Siri forgot who my sister and brother are.  After 9.3 the iPhone  6+ forgot who I am.  I tried to Navigate Home and got told "I do not know who you are so I do not know where you live.  Go to Settings blah blah blah..."  This is really not too bad Siri had known me and my home location for more than a year.

Unfortunately nothing helped me... I don't want to waste time more...

Does anybody know - what does make Apple to solve the problem? Millions of users are shocked and disappointed...

I went back to 9.3 beta 7 on my iPhone 6s Plus and on my iPad Air 2 and everything is perfect. Waiting for 9.3.1 though.

I don't think PAperson is defending Apple. I think he's trying to be neutral and encouraged others to provide useful usage scenarios. Apple may or may not need the information provided here but it certainly won't hurt to have it for future test case database. There is good amount anger expressed in this forum and through out the Internet on this subject. I hope Apple gets it.
