iBooks - how do I fix book descriptions missing on all books

I Went into iBooks today to choose a new book from the shop section. But when looking through books I noticed all books are missing their book descriptions so I have no way of finding out what a book is about. This makes choosing a book difficult and for me if I can't read descriptions for new books, I can't choose one and may as well delete this app. before I delete the app and start using a new one I thought I would ask if anyone knows how to fix this problem so I can get the book descriptions back?
