Every time I click on a link in Safari (be it google or on another page), the link goes gray and never opens. If I try pressing several times, the device is completely unresponsive. After about a minute, the Safari crashes.

I have the same problem with mail, Safari, and messages. Links work with the gmail app. Links work in Chrome but only with a long click to get the option to open in a new tab. It appears this has happened before with 9.2.1 but I could not find an answer that fixed the problem. I do not think it started until 24 hours after the update. iPhone 6s+ 128gb 9.3.
Try this:
Settings - Safari - Clear Website history and data
Restart phone

Same for me, on my Iphone and Ipad air, since I installed IOS 9.3
Some people ask you to delete the Wikipedia app, but I don't have it installed: so, that's not the issue for me
EXactly the same here. like NCFirechief says Chrome works with long press then open in new tab, but that is not an acceptable way to keep using any browser
That is not an answer because the e-mail also freezes when you click a link from an e-mail. So it's not just Safari - its the functionality across the board.
I agree with you, it is and OS problem because mercury and chrome have the same issue. i'm sorry my reply was not an answer
I have the same problem. I can't open any links or any highlighted clickable numbers on messages. When I click a link or sny highlighted url or phone number it crashes the app (tested safari, messages, mail apps of apple). This started after I updated to ios 9.3 and I am using 6s plus 128gb.
I installed Dolphin browser and links are working. Mail, Safari, Chrome crashed and are freezing when trying to click on links. IOS 9.3 installed today and is an absolute disaster.

I have the same problem. It crashes when tapping on external links from any site using any browser (safari, chrome, firefox and even dolphin). This has to be an iOS issue. I tried deleting the Wikipedia app as previously suggested (the Wikipedia app did hijack my search engine the other day when i clicked on a link into the wikipedia site, I accepted the 'allow?' message so this may have altered some settings).
Same issue here on iPad 2, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. Nothing helps: changing search engine, changing all safari settings, turning off spotlight search. Hope apple already work on a fix.
I downloaded the iOS 9.3 now and soon after tried surfing in Safari and Chrome. Both of them had this problem. The links do not work. The device crash/freeze.
