iPhone SE/Service Provider Questions???

-Hello Community!

I am new to Apple and I'm interested in purchasing the new iPhone SE but I am concerned that it will not be compatible with my service provider. I live in St. Louis Missouri and on a service plan through Cricket Wireless which is month to month without a contract. Cricket is owned by AT&T. I would like to pre-order it through Apple's website. My concerns include: when purchasing the phone it asks for service provider but only list the 4 big name companies, there is a sim free option(assuming this means its "Unlocked")as well. I have read in the tech specs that this phone uses a Nano-sim, and it says iPhone SE is not compatible with existing micro‑SIM cards. My current phone is a Samsung Galaxy S4 which is a micro-SIM, so would Cricket have to supply me with a new sim if they even support this phone? I would rather not make a $500 purchase and not be able to use it... I'm very satisfied with my Macbook Pro and I am hoping the same great experience with an Apple phone. Thank you in advance for any responses.

Cricket is not listed as a supported carrier at all here: Wireless carrier support and features for iPhone in the United States and Canada - Apple Support

That may be out of date, but you'll have to check with them regarding compatibility.

Thanks for a prompt reply!

I have contacted Cricket about this and they did not have an answer for me. I was kind of surprised. They do however offer all of the iPhone 5 and 6 models as well as the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7 models so I am assuming they have the Nano-SIM but they still couldn't answer my question...

I agree it is not listed but iPhone is supported by Cricket because they already sell and support all the current iPhone 6 models and is owned by AT&T like i said in the original post, which is listed in supported providers.

Cricket is an MVNO, and not all can support all versions of the iPhone. Many have their own version, and provide their own carrier file. You will have to wait until Cricket acknowledges if they can support the new device. Just because they are an MVNO for AT&T does not mean they can support it right now.

Your best bet would be to contact cricket to see if they can provide the nano sim card (they should). Then, you would likely want the sim free version.
