Q: Contact Groups

What controls the order of contacts within Groups in email distribution lists?  Individual contacts are listed alphabetically by last name within the group, but they are listed in what appears to be random order within the email.

In my testing, it appears to be the order in which they were added to the Group. Newest on top.

Good thought, but creating a new group in alpha order does not appear to solve the problem for me (I tested a group of 12).  They still appear to be quite random order in the email distribution list (seems to work with just 2-3 names but not more).  Then I wondered if it was by order added to Address Book, but from what I can tell, not even that.  Interestingly, if I use  "send an email" tab out of Contacts vs. typing in the group name in the TO line in an email, the order changes (and both seem to be consistently the same, but different, random order).
