Q: Quick Storage Question

Just a really quick question.  On my Macbook Pro is says I have 215gb free of 250gb.  So I understand that I have 215gb free.  I'm curious why it shows a bar where it explains that 105gb were used on Apps, etc.  Is that being taken from the 215gb it says I have free or is that bar that shows Apps, etc. something else?  Btw, I haven't downloaded any Apps, this is the stuff that came with my Macbook.  Thanks for answering my question!

Is it possible that you misread "MB" and reported it as "gb" ??

If you are looking at the display from 'About this Mac', be advised that the program that generates it has a bug.  Often, but not always, a Spotlight reindex will correct it:

If you need reliable information, download from the Internet OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective (both free) and open them. They will show all of your files and the respective sizes.
