After updating to os2 my watch won't turn on, is anyone else having this problem? Any news on what causes this or how to fix?

MY watch was completely dead so I let it charge until it got to 80% then I started the updating process. During this time my phone was next to the watch, the watch was never removed from the charger and my phone is up to date with 9.3. It was done updating and the screen was black so I touched the face of the watch and nothing. So I tried the buttons on side and also nothing.

Hi Ian - try these steps:

On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver > if they are presently turned on, turn off both VoiceOver and Screen Curtain.

Otherwise, remove your watch from the charger and try restarting or, if that doesn't work, force restarting it:

  • Restart: press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider; drag the slider to turn off; then press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.
  • Force restart: press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for around 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

If your watch still does not respond, try charging it again for a few hours before trying again.

If the issue then persists, I suggest that you contact Apple Support (mail-in service may be available) or make a Genius Bar reservation with a view to having your watch checked under warranty:
