how to block a certain app on an iphone

Hi,

I would like to block an app (Grindr) on an Iphone 6s from ever being downloaded or accessed on that phone again. I was going to set up restrictions but i think that just works to block apps with age ratings. Am I wrong? Are there any other ways to do it?
