I have major issues with IMAP since 10.11.2.

I dont have any problems, and neither do most people i know - using 10.11.x.
So i conclude you have a problem specific to you - a mis-configured account, or maybe something that was corrupted in the upgrade.
re-build the mailboxes.
Re-create the account ( delete and let it re-synch)
or - do you have any add-on crapware installed? Its soooooooo common i have to ask.
