Exactly which iMac, running what version of OS X?
Mac DV Special Edition, Model M5521, Power PC G3 Processor, running Max OS x 10.3. It sees my network, but won’t connect.
Is your WiFi router configured to use WPA2? Your iMac does not have that feature.
The best WiFi security that your iMac can support is WPA.
I have asked the moderators to move this to the iMac (PPC) discussion area.
WPA is what it supports. Router supports WPA2.
Can it be upgraded to airport extreme card?

You will need to reduce the security of your WiFi network from WPA2 to WPA to allow the older iMac to connect wirelessly.

No
Thank you.
If you really need/want to use WPA2 with the iMac in question, you could try an appropriate wireless Ethernet bridge (also known as a gaming or media adapter) connected to the Ethernet port of the computer. These bridge devices (examples include Netgear WNCE2001 and Linksys WET610N) do not normally require special drivers, and can thus be used under almost any operating system. Configuration (typically) via a standard web browser. Check the specifications before you buy. An external wireless Ethernet bridge would replace the AirPort card.
Thank you so much. That is exactly what I am going to do🙂 Thanks for your help!
