Q: Just updated from ML to El Capitan, can not send e-mail outside my home network

Hi - I have just moved from Mountain Lion to El Capitan.  (I like the new Server app!).  Got everything up and running except for one small but important thing.  I can not send e-mail from any devices when not connected to the same network my server is on (my home network).  This must be some small issue, but I have gone through EVERY setting there is and I can not find anywhere a setting that indicates the smtp server is not reachable from the internet.

Anyone who has any ideas?  Please if you need further information (from terminal or screenshots from my server app, please let me know )

Just a follow up....  I can use the smpt server with some connections outside of my network.  I was at another wireless network and it worked fine.  I then tried my wifes mobile connection - and it worked! (OneCall).  So right now - I still have the problem when connecting my devices via the largest mobile-network company in Norway - Telenor.

This was not a with my previous ML server setup.  Can this be a problem with the DNS setup somehow?

What do the server logs have to say about it?

The chances are this is a configuration issue, in which case I'd expect to see the connection logged with an error message indicating why the email was rejected. For remote users you'll usually need to have authentication turned on (to make sure that just anyone isn't sending mail through your server), but that should be clear from the logs.

Not sure I know what to look for in the logs.  I guess it is the smtp log you are refering to.  I do not think it updates when I try to send e-mails from some networks, so the something makes sure the smtp server is never reached.

I have previously explained that I can connect to the smtp server from some networks and not others.  I can connect from 2 of the 3 home networks I have tested (over wifi).  At one of those I was not able to connect.  I can connect through my wife's cellular network (OneCall), but not mine (Telenor).

Can this have anything to do with my problems?:
