My iphone 4S touch screen won't respond. Can't restore on iTunes because I can't turn off Find My Phone.

I have had my iphone 4S for quite some time. It's not new. Out of the blue, the touch screen has randomly stopped responding. Sometimes it will come back after a few seconds, other times I have to wait a few minutes. Currently, it has been unresponsive for nearly an hour. I have turned off the phone, restarted, neither has worked. I tried doing a restore on iTunes, but it's telling me I have to turn off Find My Phone, but I can't do that without the use of my touchscreen. Any other ideas, short of buying a newer phone? (that will happen eventually, but not today).
