Help on bootcamp iMac 27inch 5k late 2014 model

Hello all

I think I done something wrong trying to do an bootcamp for windows.

I currently have a windows 7 ultimate x64 cd key (also have the original cd all legit) and tried installing a windows 64bit.iso from Microsoft itself.

Basically mounted it to an USB through bootcamp (I believe it is USB 3 did not know USB 3 gave issues)

Then did the partition through bootcamp, restarted then got the dredded no bootable device.

Now I'm stuck, I do not use a mac keyboard or mouse I use an hard wire gaming mouse and Microsoft ergonomic wireless keyboard and when I get to the screen I cannot do anything.

I have seen you can press option on mac keyboard and go back to OSX partition but this I cannot do currently.

So basically I can only think of a few things.

I was thinking of buying a super drive, will this help me in installing windows 7 to get me out of this mess?

Is there something I can download to a usb to try and boot it back to osx or something along these lines

Or am I so screwed I need to send to Apple or Mac repair people.

Thanks

Your ISO should be on your internal disk and not mounted. BC Assistant will prompt you for a location, erase your USB (please use a USB2) and format it as FAT, download BC drivers (these are W10 drivers if running El Capitan), integrate the ISO and these BC drivers into a bootable USB.

To Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support , you will need to replace $WinPEDriver$, Bootcamp folder and AutoUnattend.xml from the BC5 drive available at this link. Once you have the USB setup, you can partition and install Windows 7.

Well I know the iso on the internal.

I downloaded again the boot camp from this link for my imac

Download Boot Camp Support Software 5.1.5769

Found a small 4gb flashstick usb and formatted on slow to fat since originally I had fat 32 and guess what did not work

Do I need to buy a super drive will it boot from that if I had the orginal cd?

If not how am I going to get out of it like I said I do not have an mac mouse or keyboard connected I cannot press option to bring up screens at the start 😟

You need a 8GB or large USB2 flash drive. You need to let BCA build the USB and then replace the appropriate folders as documented in Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support , step 11.

Open the resulting folder. Locate the following files in this folder and drag them to your USB Flash drive. When prompted if you want to replace the existing items on the flash drive, click Yes.

$WinPEDriver$ (folder)

AutoUnattend.xml

BootCamp (folder)

A Windows keyboard with the Windows key acts as an Alt/Option

Well mine is wireless everytime I hold it down nothing happens.

I got a second wireless windows keyboard and connected the wireless part in and held down windows key nothing happens

Do I need to go buy an mac mouse/keyboard ? since I thought it had to pair so may be useless in this situation or a keyboard that isn't wireless since I think I can buy an cord apple keyboard after checking some stores online.

Also with the 8gb usb flash drive, I'm taking you mean to do this within osx correct?

BTW Thanks for the fast replys.
