After installing latest update to my iPad 2, I am unable to activate either by wifi or iTunes, and get this message: iPad” cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-54).

What does "unknown error occurred (-54)" mean?

Some have suggested (on another forum) that removing the 'read only' attribute from the iTunes folder works to fix this error message.
