Mar 25, 2016 1:02 PM in response to elcpuby Anne Mc,This happened with my husband's iPad last night. It wanted his original Apple ID used to set up the iPad but he changed ID 2 years ago. Although he knew the old password, it would not accept it and eventually told him his Apple ID was locked and directed him to the Apple ID page to reset the password. However, it then told him that the ID entered was not a valid Apple ID. So he tried his current ID and it unlocked it!
So worth trying your current ID if the old one doesn't work or you can't remember the password.
