Google links don't work after iOS 9.3

After update to iOS 9.3 on my iPhone 6 Plus I can no longer click on search links from Google anymore. Tried both in Safari and Chrome. Works well with Bing.com.

If I hold down on the link and choose to open in new tab it works.

restarted apps -> same result

Rebooted iPhone twice -> same result.

I Have the sAmerica issues after upgrading to iOS 9.3 last night on my iPhone 6. Called customer service tech support and at first they denied having an issue with iOS 9.3 and that they are not aware of one. Then the guy comes back after I sent him the link to this page with people comparing about this issue and said that they were made aware of this issue 15 minutes ago. Bull.

Same here on iPad.

Safari: Links in many websites (Google and others) don't work, clicking often completely freezes Safari.

Mail: links in posts don't work. Clicking them freeze Mail.

I deeply regret that I updated to 9.3. I will be travelling the next weeks with very limited internet access and my iPad supposed be my connection to the world.

Obviously iOS 9.3 was not even properly beta tested with a bug like this!

Extremely frustrating!

Not an 9.3 problem for me. Issue just came randomly now before I had updated. I was updating lots of other apps from App Store first, and it was after that I got the problem. So I decided to update to 9.3 too, but that didn't fix it. Only turning off Javascript has resolved Safari links so far, but as many other says, not links in mail and stuff.

How in the WORLD can Apple lets this release out without addressing this TERRIBLE linkage problem? Seriously, if MICROSOFT did this is would be a global scandal. And yet Apple has this problem which almost destroys it's intelligence mobile devices, and no one is hearing about it.

This is such a MAJOR FAIL by Apple that it calls into question whether or not they can be trusted to write operating system software.

Same issue on iPhone 6. It started for me when clicking news items, from the search screen, stopped working.

I followed the above. First it did not work in safari, then I tried chrome, the again safari and it worked.

i Could even turn the settings back on.

clicking the news items still not working.

I Am appalled ( yet again with Apple ), after the debacle of my 4 ( yes, 4 ) new iPad Pro freezing after charging, fixed eventually by an Apple update, with no apology, now, after updating to 9.3, I cannot use Safari as no links work. I did follow the advice suggested here to disable Java, and whilst that did work, when I went onto a site, it would not work without re-installing Java !

Do Apple not test these upgrades before releasing it and telling us to do so? This ( as with the freezing ) cannot be isolated incidents as so many users are affected

my patience and loyalty to Apple is sorely tested. They want us to splash out serious money on their products, it appears without long term prior testing, and only reacting when faults are reported by us.

Several people have mentioned this issue is present on 9.2.1. They have not upgraded. They also have the issue in Chrome. Also it's not Google search specific. I am one of those people. I suspect this is a far more serious bug, that is unrelated to the upgrade some have performed. I think a bug has infected iOS devices and it has nothing to do with the upgrade which is coincidental. It is interesting that it relates to what people attempt to link to. Sounds like an attempt to track web browsing activity that has broken all browsing links. The fact that Apple have not held their hands up after 3 days also make me think this is more serious than an upgrade issue which could have been fixed by now, and surely they would have spotted during testing as everyone here is saying. YEs my Safari crashed yesterday. It was working fine on Saturday and now it will not open web pages and yet opens adds. I also found I can not longer open email web links which is really bad actually. I have tried all the suggestions. Clearing CAche does NOT work, Turning Jarva off DOES not work, restarting IPAD DOES not work, Try having Yahoo as search engine, does not work, any other adjustments to SAfari DOES NOT WORK so don't waste your time.. I have spent hours and hours trying to fix this. I had to load google chrome in the end to use as a search engine. However I can not open email links. Also I have found a Teltra APP no longer works which is strange too. HOwever all my favourites will load in Safari as normal And no problems. I only loaded the update a week ago so I know it is the problem.

YEs thank goodness I found everyone was having the same problem. I will not update my phone now and regret having updated my IPAD. I can't open any email links now. I can open anything that was saved in a favourites bar though. What worries me is that I now have some Apps crashing. For example the Telstra APP . I ended up installing Google crome and it works if you press and hold open in a new tab but I can't do that with Safari. Forget turning off Java Script, and all the other stuff too suggested none of it works and until they fix this we have lost basic functions in our emails and search engines. I am also concerned what is happening with other APPS.

The problem is not just on safari but on other browsers as well. I have the problem on Opera and Chrome as well. The problem seems to be clicking on links that aren't on the same domain as the page you're currently on. For instance, when I'm on the Swedish site Aftonbladet, all links to other sites on other can't be clicked. And that goes to ALL sites I've been on the last 48 hours. I've got iOS 9.3.

This was caused by a bad Universal Links file on Booking.com's website if you had their app installed. They have fixed it server side so new users won't be affected. However, for currently suffering users, rebooting and immediately uninstalling their app has fixed it for some. You can then reinstall if it fixes the issue.

I'm not sure how long Universal Link data is cached by the swcd daemon, so I don't know if it will be resolved in time for users that take no action.
