Numbers not syncing with iCloud

Ever since the latest iOS and El Cap updates Numbers files will not sync via iCloud. I get "Updating spreadsheet" on the iOS device which never completes, and a small progress bar in the iCloud Numbers directory if going the other way.

Have tried creating and saving new spreadsheets to "kickstart" the sync process but doesn't help.

Apple has never been good at cloud sync support but I would have thought basic things like syncing would be ironed out by now.

Any idea about library files to delete or other house keeping that would restore proper sync functionality?

You might double-check that you have iCloud turned on in two places in settings:

Settings > iCloud > iCloud Drive Numbers

and

Settings > Numbers > Use iCloud

Also, sometimes signing out and back in again can help.

I have the same problem and I turn off numbers´s icloud settings and icloud drive, then uninstall numbers of my iphone, reinstall numbers and create a new document, turn on icloud and numbers icloud and same problem. Not sync in upload or download documents,monly I see the bar and the message above indicate syncin but nothing appears.

IN others works great, Ipad2, Ipad Pro and Mac works greats but in Iphone don´t. Anynother suggestions?
