Q: Photostream

Hi, I have a question about photostream. I want options like when I take a picture on my iphone it atomaticlly goes to app photo on my mac. But when I delete photo on my iphone it stays on my mac. Does it working when I turn on photostream on both devices and on my mac turn on import : copy photos to library Photos. Will it after 30 days delete or won't? Is it the right option for me or I have to make it different ?

Thanks for all posts

Even though you've posed in the iPhoto forum I'm guessing you're using Photos based on what you're written.  Am I correct?

On your Mac have the Photos/iCloud preference pane setup like this:

    PhotosPSprefs.jpg

On your iPhone set up iCloud as follows:

    Burstphotosetting.png

    The Burst photos is optional.

Now when you delete a photo from the iPhone delete it from the Camera Roll, and NOT the My Photo Stream. You can let the deleted photo wait for the 30 days to be deleted or you can go to the Recently Deleted album on the iPhone and delete it immediately.

It's best to take a test photo and delete it to make sure it works as it's supposed to.

Yes, exactly like this. But I have one more question. It is working fine for me. But I have one more Q. I have now photos in folder photostream on my mac. And I am scared that when 30 days left or I will have in my photostream more then 1000 photos. Then my other photos deleted and I will never restore them. Do my photos import to library automaticly from photostream or I have to do something?

They will import automatically into the Photos library.  You can see them at or near the  the bottom of the All Photos window.

That's different  from deleting it from your iPhone.  Leave it in the My Photo Stream and it will eventually be replaced if you add more than 1000 or will be removed after 30 days (sometimes longer)  but will stay in the Photos or All Photos window, i.e. the library.

What is it exactly you're wanting to accomplish?

I want that when I take a photo with my Iphone it automaticlly save forever in my mac. Its like some backup and storage save on my iphone. But I found out that backup photos from iphone to mac with cable little bit annoying. And I am asking if this photostream is the right resolution of my problem.

Thank you for all your posts I appreciate it.

The My Photo Stream will suit your needs.  Just ignore it and don't delete any photos from the My Photo Stream on your iPhone.  If you need to delete a photo do it from the Camera Roll.

THats it. And after 1000 photos in photostream photos will be replaced but replaced photos will be still in all photos in my mac. Is it right? Sorry for so many questions but it is so important to me
