How do I fade in and out a MIDI Track?

Hello I am trying to fade in my gospel choir and I can't seem to find where Logic put the automation keys! I am able to fade in with my regular audio, but not my MIDI! I've tried selecting my fading tools, and I've also tried selecting the Automation key, but the yellow automation bar never shows up! I also have watched youtube videos on how to fade in specific tracks by hovering in the top left corner to create a fade in... But there is never a prompt or a change in cursor for me to do this! Helpl!

In this first image I have selected the automation key, but I can't find the editing bar for me to start manipulating the audio! The second photo shows that I have my fade tool selected, but am unable to create an individual fade in!

Couple things I notice here. One is you've got a pre 10.1 version of LPX, not a big deal, but the track header will not look like Indyuser's picture above (primarily the blue 'track' button). Two is that the fade tool only works on audio regions, so no point in trying it on MIDI. Three is that your tracks are squished too much vertically to see the automation lanes which you have tried to activate in your first pic.
