Magic Keyboard Login Screen

Hello,

I purchased a Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad 2 for my MBP. The trackpad pairs on the login screen, but the keyboard does not. The computer sits out of reach when I'm working. Once I log it, the Magic keyboard works fine. Seems like it should work on the sign in page.
