Q: HELP! My beloved iMac 2012 won't boot and keeps beeping what's happening??

34 days ago the local Apple service changed the HDD via the replacement program. The 3 year Apple care expired 26 days ago. Today my iMac (late 2012) just froze and refused to boot while beeping every 6 seconds. I Called the local apple service and they told me that the beeping sound is a ram failure.

I Contacted the online Apple support service but since my apple care is expired they don't remember me anymore but they kindly offer to charge me like $20 just to take my call. Then I tried to speak with someone about the guarantee on the HDD replacement job but they just won't answer the phone.

PLEASE HELP! is there any warranty on the HDD replacement program? How can I contact them? How can I know exactly what went wrong? Thank you very much!

iMac (27-inch, Late 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), HDD replacement program

Thank you it, seems that both ram modules decided to fail at the same time. I'm going to see how much is it. I feel cheated.

Don't feel cheated, stuff happens, and ram is inexpensive. How did you test the ram?

    Yes.  90 days.

    How can I contact them?

By phone.  Call Apple Customer Relations - 1-800-275-2273.  Ask politely & firmly that you want to be transferred to Customer Relations

You're right, this things happen all the time, specially with computers and printers, specially printers!

I didn't check the ram, it simply failed to exit the preview app after checking some high res photos and the force quit window just froze, the finder froze too (first time ever, this machine had a perfect record for 3 years!).

Shutted her down to reboot and got a black screen and beeping every  5 seconds. I plan to take it back to service as soon as I'm financially able because they told me that the HDD replacement and the ram are not reated. So I guess that's pretty much It. I want to talk with Customer Relations. I think that it must have warranty on the service precisely to prevent this kind of situation. I swear to God wish I could buy another 3 years of Apple Care!!!

The Apple Care is simply perfect and the local Apple service is awesome and helpful. Since the HDD replacement took place right before the end of the 3 year magnificent Apple Care, I went straigth into panic mode since I'm pretty much broke at the moment and the expiration of the Apple Care feels now like a hole in my heart.

Thanks for your kind words they really help.

The ram may just be poorly seated in it's slots. You might solve the problem just by removing and reinstalling the ram securely in it's slots.
