Why can't I delete the stupid selfies folder in iOS 9 on my iPad? It includes pictures of everything!

I just upgraded the iOS on my iPad. Biggest problem so far is the absolutely annoying "selfies" folder. It is adding completely unrelated pictures to it (like a picture of a hat on a table, pictures of other people's babies - not taken by the babies, btw, and other random things) and it looks like the only way to stop it is to delete all the pictures on it. This is not an appropriate solution.

I want to manage my OWN folders, not have some strange algorythm decide what to include.

Not impressed, Apple!

Only those that you created:

The Albums tab includes albums you create yourself and some albums that are created for you, depending on how you use Photos. For example, videos are automatically added to the Videos album. All your photos in iCloud are in the All Photos album if you use iCloud Photo Library (see iCloud Photo Library). If you don’t use iCloud Photo Library, you see the Camera Roll album instead, which includes photos and videos you took with iPad and from other sources.

No, I do not use iCloud. By choice. And yes, they are pictures I have (I did know that already), but almost NONE of them are selfies of any sort, let alone even being pictures of me at all. This is not an answer. I want to delete the folder altogether, I do not need "smart" folders of any sort. I am quite capable of creating my own folders, which I have done for the 22K pictures on my desktop.

I am right now removing pictures from the folder which I copy to my iPad that I REALLY do not want in my "selfies" album. But this is not a suitable solution for me for the long term.

I should be able to turn off that feature on my own equipment. Let others use it who want it. I do not.
