Q: after last update itunes 12.3.3.17 will not recognize my devices on windows 10

Hello Guys, since I installed the newest version of itunes, the 12.3.3.17 I have a big issue. It doesn't recognize my iphone 5c anymore.

I tried all the different solutions and nothing is working.

Plus since the newest version, I don't have the "Driver" file in Programfiles/Commonfiles/Apple/MobileDeviceSupport...

I also tried to install an anterior version of itunes but it doesn't work. It says that the file "lib" is from a newer version and it doesn't launch the app.

So I'm completely lost.

If someone have a solution for that, it'd be really awesome.

Haven't found a solution yet but I have a similar issue since upgrading iTunes to 12.3.3.17 (64bit) in that its extremely flaky with device detection.

For instance, iTunes has FINALLY recognised my iPhone 5S (9.3.1) after about 6 attempts but Windows (10 Pro) itself doesn't detect it.  This means it doesn't exist in My Computer and therefore I'm unable to pull-off the photos on it via windows explorer.

The iPad Pro (9.7") seems a bit more reliable being picked-up in iTunes but again from a Windows perspective it's like they don't exist.

Only seems to have happened since moving up from iOS 9.2 to 9.3 along with whatever versions of iTunes were available at that time.

THIS IS MY PROBLEM!

I don't see the Apple Device under the Universal Serial Bus menu and you seem to be the only other human on this godforsaken planet who understands my predicament. Frankly, I'm tired of trying but I NEED my **** iPad to be detected!

Please help!

Apologies in advance for a little repetition, but some things may be new to some readers, even if they are things you have tried already.

Try the following:

1. Open Control Panel > Device Manager
2. Plug in your device
3. Locate Universal Serial Bus Controllers > Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.
   It is also possible the device may show under Imaging Devices, Portable Devices or Other Devices or as an MTB USB Device.
4. Right-click and select Update Driver Software...
5. Click Browse my computer for driver software
6. Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers or
                   C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
7. Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
8. Click Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
9. Click Next, then Close and exit Device Manager

Or try iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

Failing that try a full tear down and rebuild of iTunes as set out in Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

Or lastly try rolling back to the last build of iTunes that worked for you. See iTunes installers for download links. If you're rolling back from 12.3.3.17 to 12.3.2.35 then you'll also need to roll back the library database in the way described in Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash.

I'm glad I see that others are having the same trouble. It seems to be happening with Win10. I am going to try again with their suggestions.

I deleted all the components of Itunes 12.3.3.17.

I reinstalled the 12.3.2.35 version, and modified the librairy folder.

Itunes runs well but still doesn't recognize my iphone 5c... Moreover my "Apple" folder in the "Common files" has disappeared.

Any idea on how to fix that ?

If you have a 64-bit system did you look in both ..\Program Files\Common Files and ..\Program Files (x86)\Common Files?

Were they any errors during the reinstall? Check that each component is installed. See Install missing components.

Nope My bad, I only checked in "program files x86". I found the driver in the other program files folder. Now it's working and Itunes recognize my Iphone.
