Mar 26, 2016 11:42 AM in response to rflombardiby theratter,How many beeps? Not all startup beeps mean you need to replace memory. If you get 3 beeps repeated then you may have bad memory. Please see the following:

Mar 26, 2016 12:13 PM in response to rflombardiby theratter,The article suggests bad RAM, but the pause is too long for that, so I'd say there is some other problem such as trying to startup from an OS X version that isn't able to work with that computer model. If it is the RAM there may be an ECC error. You could try removing one module at a time to see if the problem ceases.

only Desktop computers with Xeon Processor use ECC memory and contain the error-checking logic.
