Gatorade spilled on MBA 13"

Last night I was using my MBA 13" laptop and accidentally spilled my gatorade on my bed sheets and noticed 10 seconds later that a bit of gatorade got on my keyboard, mainly the arrow keys and shift, question mark, and next to the trackpad, not on the trackpad however. I immediately cleaned the surface with a moist makeup wipe to get rid of the stickiness, then dried it off with my nearby cotton leggings (silly, I know). My laptop did not shut dow and I began to blow on the keys. I tested the whole keyboard and found that all keys were working. I continued using the laptop as normal and am still using it right now. My question is, am I off the hook? has no damage been done to the laptop? Everything s working fine, sound, keys, powering on and off, etc. As stated before it wasn't much liquid as most got on the bed sheets and the blank space next to the trackpad under the arrow keys.

Monitor the Mac for awhile. Make sure everything is working as it should.

If by any chance if this happens again, good tips here > http://osxdaily.com/2014/04/13/water-contact-macbook-prevent-liquid-damage/

Suggestions refer to a Macbook Pro but apply to a MacBook Air.

Just in case, you can make an appointment at a Genius Bar > http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/

Gatorade is an electrolyte and that means it can conduct electricity. This could result in shorting out something on the motherboard as well as just gradually eating away at the copper. But if you are willing to take the risk go right ahead. Waiting for the damage to happen will just result in paying for a new motherboard at the least. If you think I am wrong, then take it in and have them run a diagnosis, but be sure to tell them what happened.

Any liquid other than distilled water may conduct enough electricity to cause shorts and corrosion. Coffee is as bad as Gatorade. Even worse with sugar in it.

If Carolyn Samit's option were the same for Gatorade as for water, then she does not understand the chemistry and physics involved with liquids that conduct electricity on circuit boards. My background is in EE, so I think I have some credibility.
