Can't add card after restore

Hi All,

I had to replace my phone -

The wallet gets deleted / reset after 'Restore from Backup' - as a result, I am unable to re-add ANY of my credit cards.

If I choose 'Set up as new iPhone' - cards add/remove/add .. no problem

I want to restore from backup since many apps have data that I wish to keep. I do not want to start over with my phone.

It appears - the restore is bringing back some sort of security token or setting that prevents adding any credit cards - including cards that I have never used with the phone, not just cards that were in the wallet previously.

There needs to be a 'Reset Wallet' to install state option someplace to clear out an tokens, cookies, etc. Whatever causes the wallet to become unusable.

My choices are:

- Never use Apple Pay ever again..

or

- Rebuild my phone and lose my Application date.

I went to the Apple Store and this was essentially confirmed by the people there.

Any bug fixes on the horizon?

Thx

Hi Bob

After restoring your iPhone from backup, try the following steps:

  • Go to: Settings > iCloud - at the bottom of the screen, Sign out.
  • Go to: Settings > Touch ID & Passcode - Turn Passcode off.
  • Restart your iPhone.
  • Sign back in to iCloud, turn Passcode back on and try again to add your card.

When adding cards, follow the steps here:

I am sorry to hear that the suggestion did not work for you (it has reportedly worked for some others).

I'm afraid that no-one here can tell you anything about Apple's unannounced plans (this is a user-based technical support community).

In order to ensure that your issue is brought to Apple's attention, I suggest that you contact Apple Support and/or submit feedback:

Thank you for your quick response.

I've tried that many times and many ways..

Sadly it does not work for me.

One thing that does happen is my credit card that is set up in iTunes pops up first.. and then 1/2 validates .. but never completes..

I think I'll try to delete it fro iTunes completely and see if that trips something up..

grrrr.. I really like using Apple Pay.
