Hidden Files?

I recently downloaded a game called Left 4 Dead on Steam and it didn't download as an app like other games do, it just downloaded like a code so overtime I want to play I have to sign into steam and access it from their, but I can't find it in my computer I look up the name and it doesn't show up. Every time I launch the game it open up an "exec" file and "Terminal" need help does anyone know whats going on?

The Exec icon is present when no application on your OS X machine is known to open it. It is probably a local data/cache/instructions file that steam uses to improve online game play for Left 4 Dead. It is likely in your Downloads folder. Click on the Downloads icon next to Trash in your Dock. Lowest files on the list are the most recently downloaded.
