Q: Apple Music on Sonos - how to get it.

I gave no Apple devices so I attempted to register through my Android phone as instructed by Sonos. I submitted it all, including credit card  info, and was told I'd get a confirmation email. When it didn't show up, I requested it be resent,. I did this numerous times and no email. It's been over a week. since I sent the original info. I have an Apple account and the username and password work from my PC, so I can get into certain functions, like here.If I start the Apple Music app on my phone, I sends me to the "START 3-MONTH FREE TRIAL" page. The next page asks me to choose the membership type (Individual - $9.99 a month after trial ends). Tapping that asks me to sign in to my Apple account. I do and it says I have not verified my account. I have tried to contact Apple support, but they are no help and Sonos just says it's an Apple problem. I'd like to get this account verified, but don't see anyway to do it since I never see an email. And no it's not blocked as spam - that filter is off. What to try next?

Can you login to your Apple account sufficiently to change the e-mail address listed to an alternative / temporary address? That way you should hopefully receive the e-mail and at least be able to verify the account?

The problem was trying to actually finish creating an Apple account. I never got the conformation email, nor any message that my application for one had errors.

After searching for a long time for a solution, I give up. Apple only tells me to download iTunes, which I have no use for, never have. If that's a requirement for Apple Music, it's a no go. I don't need another useless program on my PC.

You certainly don't need iTunes to use Apple Music. As you say, the problem has been completing your account. That's why I thought if you could change the e-mail address within your account but sounds like you can't even get that far.

I just checked. The Apple Music 3-month free trial signup page for Apple Music has only one link and that's to download the iTunes setup exe file for Windows. Every attempt to sign up using Sonos and my Android phone has failed. It's not worth a lot more effort. The other streaming services work fine without a lot of Apple's drama.

Okay, not sure if you've got passed the account verification but just in case as a last resort (although you've probably already seen it):

Using Apple Music on Sonos - Apple Support (explains how to sign-up to both Apple Music and Sonos regardless of OS).

That's where I started. I finally got the ability to change the password. Turns out I had an Apple account from 12 years ago. I finally got to the change password page. I logged in and changed the 12 year old info to current (address, credit card, etc.). I then tried to do the Apple Music free trail. I logged in, and the username and password failed, so I went back a page. Apple had changed. on its own, the domain of my email from .net to .met. I edited it to the correct thing and entered the password again. Same thing, it changed my email for no reason.

I called Apple and spent over an hour on the phone with them. They are clueless. I asked to delete my account so I could start over. No, cannot do that. It lives forever.. They tried a dozen attempts to fix it, telling me to do the same thing I'd already done numerous times. I have deleted the Apple Music app from my Android phone. I have access to several other music streaming providers (Google, Spotify, Tidal, etc), all of which I have tried and all of which work flawlessly, with a very simple sign up procedure. I think Apple isn't serious about getting Android user business and the $10 a month that comes with it.

I really appreciate your attempts to help, but I'm not prepared to deal with their ineptness further. It can't be that much better than the other options.

Yep, I think you've fairly exhausted all the time you should on that! Unfortunate that you've experienced that as I've only ever had positive things from Apple Support. That said, you're not missing out on a huge amount with Apple Music if that makes you feel any better! It's good, but not amazing!

You should start by creating yourself an apple iD where you introduce all the necessary information like credit card or else

    Create an apple iD https://appleid.apple.com/#!&page=create

Download iCloud for windows : Download iCloud for Windows - Apple Support

    Download iTunes for windows: http://www.apple.com/de/itunes/download/

There you sign in to apple music and the money will be discounted from the credit card you gave at the apple iD sign up

Finally you add your apple music account to sonos

    hope this helped you

I finally got it to work. No you don't need to download iTunes or iCloud. I have no use for either of these. You just need to request resending the confirmation email for change of password until it actually appears.
