Q: How do I activate iPad without original owner ID and password? Original owner is family member who is deceased.

My brother set up the iPad2 for my parents. I am trying to reset an activate the iPad2 but it keeps asking me the Apple ID ad password that were used to set up the iPad. My brother passed away and left no information of his passwords or access. Need to reset it.

You have run into the Activation lock from iCloud

Find My iPhone Activation Lock - Apple Support

There is no one on this forum that can help

Please bring the original owner's documents of purchase and the death certificate along with your identity papers to an Apple store and they may be able to help with the lock
