Q: Having problems with wifi, bluetooth and gps in my iphone 6 after iOS update

After last iOS 9.3 update my iphone 6 is having problems with wifi, bluetooth and gps. My wifi connection now is more slow and drops easily in a short distance. My bluetooth does the same. But the most important problem is my phone's GPS. I tried everything lile:

-Doing a network reset

-Doing a total reset and restore in my phone

-Doing reboot my phone two times.

- Checking and unnistalling third party apps

Nothing work. I was in the apple store where they checked my phone and they say everything is ok with the phone. I'm not crazy and I know when something is not working properly. Also I believe that is iOS 9.3 update the one reaponsible for my phone problems.

Please fix those bugs fast.

Yep, same problem for at least a month. My roomate can connect to wifi easily, so it's not our router. I can't use any of my maps. Frankly, this is dangerous. A lot of Apple users rely on the gps function. I drive a lot and not only do I use the directions often, I also tell my friends and family where I'm going so they can track me if need be. I tried switching to Android the last time I had an upgrade with my provider and didnt like it, but I'm going to have to switch if this doesn't get fixed soon. This is unacceptable and should have been fixed a month ago.

Same problem here. 64GB Verizon iPhone 6 on the latest 9.3.2. Ever since 9.3.1, my phone has to be within approximately 1ft for it to work. Otherwise, the audio is garbage and breaks up. My bluetooth headphones are unusuble. Luckily in my car, I have a mount - but if I have my phone in my pocket, the audio breaks up. This is ridiculous that Apple hasn't even acknowledged this. I opened a support case with Apple a few weeks ago about this, but never heard back.

I've done a complete factory restore from scratch. Set everything up again, unpaired/re-repaired all devices. Nothing works. I don't want to sound cliche, but I'm an network engineer for a living, so troubleshooting an iOS device is easy. I don't need some level 1 tech support from India to tell me how to reset my network settings. This is a firmware/software issue that Apple needs to fix. I've had zero issues up until I updated my phone to 9.3.1. My wife's phone is still pre 9.3, and she has no issues. Literally the same day that I updated my phone to 9.3.1, my GPS would lose signal right next to hers. My wifi signal went to crap, and bluetooth devices are screwed up.

I have a iPhone 6 64gb. My gps began going out 13 months after I bought the phone. I have tried everything. Hard reset, location services on and off. I even  took it to apple and they "bombed" it. The guy at the Genius bar said "I do it every three months. Its cool. Its like getting a new phone." He clearly downplayed the situation. This is a problem and Apple continues to deny it.

My gps locates my location 50% of the time but rarely follows me. I've scheduled another appointment with the genius bar today.

Also... I find it ridiculous that an expensive apple product ($750) would break 13 months after purchase and they wouldn't stand behind their product.

I posted a previous comment about a possible lawsuit and I received a scathing response from Apples "ChrisJ4203":

    GPS Problems!

The standard warranty for the iPhone is 1-year. When the phone is purchased, you have the ability to purchase Apple Care Plus, which extends the warranty for an additional 1-year. However, that has to be purchased within the first 30 days. You can make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have the phone examined and see if there is a problem with the GPS receiver in your device. That is free of charge. Should there be something wrong with the device, since it is out of warranty, you would be responsible. Apple does provide an out of warranty replacement, which costs significantly less than a new phone.

The decision to switch to another brand would be yours to make.

I'm not sure what searching you have done that would convince you Apple is in store for a lawsuit, but then given the litigious attitude of the American people, anything is possible. The question is, as always, will it be successful.

    I'm really really annoyed.

I Went to the appointed service provider in Indonesia earlier 16th april 2016, which is really not professional at all.( Mitracare Kuningan)

They are multi brand service provider. And the technician there told me that they actually do nothing, they just accept the unit and then ship to another country for further checks. And they require few weeks just for that(Not including repair).

I filed another complain to apple, which lead me to get a contact for Apple customer support on the 16th of April.

The guy is nice, but keep wasting my time to have a phone call just to relay simple information saying they're still investigating.

After a few times he keep insist to have a phone call instead of just a simple email, this is making me curious, whether apple is hiding something.

Today i had another phone call, which tell me that it is the hardware issue ( after 1 month), and the fix will be on my own cost. They even suggest me still to go to the appointed service provider, which at the first point i already complain.

I asked them to write by email, and they still just email me the case number only. not the summary of our conversation.

I'm using Iphone 6 64g. My Wifi signal drop significantly ( now i need to be 3-4 meters from my router to just get 2 bar strength) after the software update. and my gps is not working(Waze /google map).

I tried all the resetting procedure apple suggest.

I'm really curious that apple is hiding something and try to run away from this issue.

Remember the Iphone 5 case where apple recall the bulging battery problem ? Unfortunately some owner are not informed, or they already either too late to know, or already replace the battery by themself.

I have had the exact same problems listed above. I went to the apple store and they ran a diagnostic, but said nothing was wrong.

Same problems here.  iOS 9.3.2 with iPhone 6.  Weak wifi, GPS, and Bluetooth.  Apple store ran a diagnostic and said all was well, and the only solution offered was a replacement phone for ~$250.

Not being a savvy iPhone user, I have two questions:

    1) Is there a way to revert to a working iOS version?

    2) Whether or not we agree that the iOS update caused the problem, is this a hardware problem that requires a new phone?  I had assumed that the passed diagnostic test meant the hardware was good, which implies a software problem (an iOS problem?).

    Thanks.

I'm having these same problems but on my SE.  I updated on Wednesday & now I can't connect to wi-fi in my house & Bluetooth has become a nightmare.  I'm new to the whole iPhone thing so I'm pretty disappointed.

This is the exact attitude which will be the down fall of Apple. I've read countless support threads on various issues related to both my computers and mobile devices. Rarely have I ever found a solution that worked and of those solutions to try 100% of them were by community members, not actual Apple "Geniuses."

Case in point is this thread. Not a single mention of "We are looking into it" or any useful information at all. It is marked Solved even though the "solution" is just another post of somebody complaining they are experiencing the exact same problem as everybody else.

My phone is useless at this point. It does nothing. The new iOS killed the ipod feature in not remembering the music I was listening to hours before and then randomly playing what it wants me to hear. Now the GPS doesn't work. I only ever have one bar of reception. I have to turn off wifi because the signal is so weak and my phone being in my front pocket is too far for my bluetooth heads and cuts in/out.

Yes I have the option of spending MORE money on a warranty, but if you can't stand behind you product enough to just give me a decent warranty then yes I have the freedom to move to another company. Pompous *** customer service keeps calling bluffs and I'll laugh my *** off when Chris is getting turned down for Customer Service jobs at Samsung and LG because Apple just $#!+ the bed due to like ****** like him and their holy than though attitude.

Apple, get your $#!+ together before you get smacked off you self made pedestal. People are ****** and your community and support forums are full of them. This isn't frivolous "the power button is too hard to press" issue, this is core **** functionality. The same stuff everybody was quick to go iOSgasm when Steve Jobs was out of the picture. Daddy left the party and everybody at Apple lost their $#!+ to do everything Steve wouldn't let you do. And this is a prime example of why, because he wanted the product to work and didn't trust any of you to be competent enough to pull it off.

A phone with 3 features that work BEATS any phone with 80 features that don't work. Apple, you are embarrassing yourself badly. If Steve Jobs was around to see this he would renounce Buddhism just so he could start stopping all your dumbasses into the ground.

Apologies for the harsh words but it is needed in this case. Apple you are a mess!!! Absolute and total mess!!! Embarrassingly horrible tragic mess.

In the wise words of Oscar Rodgers "FIX IT!!!"

Same issue for my iPhone 6 at home. It only works right next to the router, whilst another iPhone 6 without upgrade to 9.3.2 and 3 iPads and 2 MacBook pro's all working as before. Why is Apple not responding to this thread. Given the remedial effort that other users have tried, this does appear to be a software issue introduced by Apple and therefore can only be fixed by Apple. So come on Apple, look into this. Premium product should equal premium service.

My previous post was filtered out by apple because of complainning.

I think apple screw up with some batch of iphone, which make the upgrade causing hardware damage.

My problem also still not solved up to now!!

My wife's phone is having the EXACT same problem, this is clearly a large issue warranting either a recall or a high priority software update. It has gotten to the point where it is a safety concern, my wife can't even rely on GPS when driving our daughter and the girls she nanny's for around!
