Q: graphic glitches 10.11.4

Hi I just went from 10.8.5 to 10.11.4. Screen now has graphics glitches. Multicolored checkerboard sort of around outside of Desktop. Not there in 10.8.5, now they are there, mostly when resizing a window, but sometimes simply a quicklook of a pdf will produce the anomalies. Anyone seen this?Screen Shot 2016-03-26 at 10.05.00 PM.png

I haven't tried but wish I had installed 10.11.2 first since I haven't run into issues like that on my other machines. Oddly the iMac is the newest machine but the first to exhibit issues like this. Would you suggest archive install, or is that old terminology now?

Tough to imagine that this is a hardware problem, but it may still be. Would you run and post an EtreCheck report so we can look for software issues? http://etrecheck.com/

Hi Mike, When posting etre, is that simple copy paste, or should it be a link of some sort? I see they warn of possible personal info.

Its a simple copy and paste. If you see anything your concerned about edit it out, but my experience has been that there is NO personal or sensitive info included in the report.

You have a lot of "stuff", most of which I'm not familiar with, but it's possible that one or more of those add ons is conflicting with El Capitan. It would be an almost impossible task to try to figure out which one(s) it may be. Since you have a Time Machine backup what I would do of it were mine would be to erase the boot volume and reinstall a fresh copy of El Cap and nothing else then test. If the problem persists there is a hardware issue, if not you can add all of that "stuff" back in one at a time util you find the culprit.

    Hi Mike

Thanks for looking. I can safely rule out hardware, since the computer and screen function normally under OSX 10.8.5. It is surely a function of this new combination, including OSX 10.11.4
