How easy is it to hack an iPhone?

My iphone 5c was hacked by a male colleague. I know this is not just a case of paranoia because he made a snarky comment on something I had looked at online without any other way of knowing about it. From this experience I now know that browser history can be accessed but I don't know what else he or my other colleagues have looked at, or if they are still doing it. For now I'm just not using my phone so much.

I'm curious to know how easy it is to do this and what kind of information can be accessed. Are text messages accessible as well? How do you prevent this kind of thing from happening?

Maybe your iPhone wasn't hacked but was your Apple ID. If someone steals your Apple ID password and you have iCloud enabled, he/she can see your browser history from his/her own iOS device or Mac, apart from your contacts, calendar events and even iCloud Drive files.

I suggest you to change your Apple ID password -> https://appleid.apple.com Then, in order to strengthen the security of your data, you can enable two-step verification from that website, or even two-factor verification from your device, so it will be even harder for other people to access your data.
