Converting PUB files to PDF

It works great and you can download the converted file. Best part, it's free.

It would be better to see the following:

• Stated no personal use of this product
• Association statement that you are/are not the developer of the linked product, and that you do/do not receive financial gain by posting the link.

Further to my previous comments about using http://pubtopdf.com/. I converted a .pub funeral bulletin to .pdf with excellent results. There was no corruption whatsoever to the original .pub file. I am not the developer of this linked product and gain no financial benefit by recommending it. I was searching, just like others in the community discussion, because I was sent a .pub file and couldn't read it. This link did the trick quickly, efficiently, and freely on OSX High Sierra. 🙂

I don't know if there is anything available on Macs that will open Microsoft Publisher files. If there is such as Microsoft Office, you can just open the file and use the Print dialog to save it as a PDF in the same folder which would open by default.

Apparently LibreOffice will open at least some .pub files so I assume Office will.

Have you searched the Mac App Store for a convertor? This http://jitwiki.wikispaces.com/file/view/Convert+a+Publisher+File+to+PDF+on+a+Mac .pdf indicates that you already have what you need. I don't have any .pub files to try it on.

The free LibreOffice can open MS Publisher files, from where you can export as PDF. This is not the same as opening them in MS Publisher, and some registration may be off.

LibreOffice also has a command-line invocation that can read any file format it understands and convert to PDF. The following example writes the PDF in the same location as the Publisher document. An optional --outdir <folderpath> can put the PDF elsewhere. The following could be included in a script to batch process Publisher files, but it is best to manually assess conversion quality first.

There is a PUB Viewer (and editor) Pro for Mac, but I have no experience with it. It is in the OS X App Store.

I agree. You could write a script but as you say the conversion isn't always perfect. Would be somewhat of a waste of time to convert 50 .pub documents only to find they didn't convert correctly.

Personally I don't think there's a good way to batch convert them in place.
