Difference between IPod Touch 5th and 6th Generation versions

I need to replace my IPod Classic with an IPod touch as it is finally giving up the ghost. I love the Classic and found it intuitive from day one, but have heard that the 6th Generation IPod touch is not intuitive. Any views on the ease of use of the 5th vs 6th generation IPod Touches, which I only intend to use for music, either in my car or a docking station at home? In particular:

  1. I need to be able to replicate the On-the-go play list feature. Do either of the versions come with this feature?
  2. How could I use the new Ipod with my existing docking station which fits the Classic?

There are lightning to 30-pin adopter that may work.

for cable one

You have to contact the dock manufacturer to see if an adopter will work

See the Music chapter of the 5G/6G manual to see what is supported. Go is not

The 5G and 6G are very much the same functionally. The 6G has better camera, faster processor and thus more features of iOS 9 are available on the 6G compared to the 5G.

I myself would only purchase a 6G todays since it is likely to be more updatable in the future
