I seek your help:
Whenever I try to save a file with Safari that has a cyrillic name, it appears in Finder with ugly symbols.
Here is an example. The one in the middle was renamed manually after downloading.
The OS is OS X 10.11 (Macbook air 2012)
How on earth can I fix it? It bring TONS of inconvinience
MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X El Capitan (10.11.4)
I would try Firefox first.
You could try switching the OS to Russian and see if that helped.
Apple used to have an app, Filename Encoding Utility, to deal with such problems, but I have no idea if it is still around or works.
It looks like there is an encoding mismatch.
Does this happen with pdf's from all sites or just some?
Does it happen when you use Firefox instead of Safari?
Yeah, it seems to me also, but I don't know how to fix it...
It happens from vast majority of sites. I dont have Firefox, but I tried to use chrome and had the same effect. Is there any possibility to change the defaulf file saving encoding in the mac os somehow?
