Problem with other storage

Basically i've had my macbook pro for about over a year now, i don't really use it for much, obviously putting music on my phone it has some pictures on etc. Also use it to edit youtube videos but i keep them all on my external hard drive not on my laptop, i've looked all over the communities but i can find any answers. My other storage is taking up about 43GB of my 120GB so its taking up quite a bit, anyone who can help please do, i'm not much of a tech genius so i don't fully understand macs, thanks for any help! Running OS X El Capitan.

I've tried doing all of that and it wont budge, its started going up its now at 53GB

Two things about Other

When all is well Other is simply any other file that doesn’t belong to any of the other categories listed
Unfortunately it doesn’t take much for the Spotlight Index to get munged. When it does files that actually do belong to some other category (such as Audio or Apps) will get tagged as other instead. Actually I think saying it gets tagged as Other is a misnomer. I think it may be that the lack of a tag is what gets it labeled as Other in the listing

It is possible (sometimes with great difficulty) to reindex files so Spotlight tags files properly. I belong to the group of people who ignore Spotlight so I don’t bother. This article: Spotlight: How to re-index folders or volumes - Apple Support describes how to reindex and sometimes it actually works just this easily. Other times it is necessary to jump through a few more hoops.
