Could just be Spotlight re-indexing to any number of incompatible or failed processes.

    1. Go to: Apple > Force Quit and see if there are any App's that are not responding.

    2. Open your Activity Monitor, select the CPU tab and look for a runaway or failed process.

    3. Run > http://etrecheck.com/ and copy the report here for scrutiny.

I see 2 issues. First is you (or someone that has access to your computer) installed CleanMyMac which is considered malware by experienced users. OS X is extremely secure and does not need any cleaning, antivirus, or ANY third party maintenance apps. Locate the developers instructions for uninstalling it and uninstall immediately.

Next is you have some adware installed, re-open your EtreCheck report and click where it says remove in the adware section.

After you have taken care of both issues, restart the computer in Safe Mode to clear some caches then restart normally and test.

Did you restart in Safe Mode and then restart normally as I suggested?? If so and the problem persists then CleanMyMac may have damaged your install of OS X. Before you do ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING, backup your computer. You don't have Time Machine configured so I don't know if you are backing up at all. Once you have a complete backup using Time Machine then do an Erase and Install of OS X using your Recovery Partition.

If for some reason that fails you may need to take the computer to your local Apple Store or AASP to have OS X re-installed. Then you can manually restore your data files from the backup and also manually install your applications.
