Q: Will iPod nano 7th Generation Work With iTunes 11?
I have an iPod nano 1st Generation, and I'm thinking about trading it in for a 7th generation. But the problem is that Apple says it needs iTunes 12.2 or later. But I have an iMac from late 206 with a Intel Core 2 Duo, and it can't run iTunes 12. It can only run iTunes 11. I know that these iPods worked with iTunes 10 and 11 when they came out, so is there a way to get the latest model to work with those versions. Perhaps a slightly older version of the iPod software? If anyone can tell me if this is possible and how to do it, please help out.

If Apple is sending you the current (2015) version of the 7th gen iPod nano, the system requirements on the tech specs page says
https://www.apple.com/ipod-nano/specs/
"Mac: USB 2 or 3 port, OS X v10.7.5 or later, and iTunes 12.2 or later"
If your iMac is this model
http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/specs/imac-core-2-duo-1.83-17-inch-sp ecs.html
It can run up to Mac OS X 10.7.5 (Lion), which allows you to run a version of iTunes that works with the current 7th gen iPod nano. However, if you run older Mac software that are compiled from PowerPC Macs, Snow Leopard (10.6) has the Rosetta "translator" that is no longer present in Lion (and later). So those older PowerPC-only apps will no longer run on your iMac.
