Q: For those having problems with the iOS 9.3 update please read...

So many people are having problems with the update to iOS 9.3 and the questions are flooding the iOS support forums now. I am hoping that by consolidating some of the information available, it will help some of you without starting hundreds of new threads all asking about the same things.

Please do not shoot the messenger if you already know all of this. I am just trying to help by providing some information To the community. Theses problems are well known, Apple has acknowledged them and is reportedly working on a fix that should be out soon.

Here are some tech site articles that explain the problems if any of you are interested in reading them. They are in no particular order other than what my most recent Google search turned up for me.

This one contains some suggestions that might actually help some of you.

Apple posted these support articles a couple of days ago and they might help some of you as well

If you can't activate your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch after installing iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If you can’t activate your iPad 2 (GSM model) after you update to iOS 9.3 - Apple Support

If nothing suggested works for you right now, you will just have to be patient (remember that "please don't shoot the messenger" thing from above ) and wait until Apple issues the fixed software update.

AM I right in thinking, if I do not do the 9.3 update, I would have to wait for the 9.3.1 update and if so, is this what Apple are working on at the moment to fix the problem everyone is having?

I fixed my iPad just now by first backing up all data, resetting the iPad, and erasing all data. I then set up the device as a "new iPad" and synced my photos and music using icloud (I didn't do a restore from the back up using icloud). I then re-entered all of my email accounts, which in turn updated all of my contacts. I then took this as an opportunity to cull the number of apps on my ipad (I really had too many anyway!) and free up some memory - I then only downloaded the apps (from the App Store) that I use frequently, and left Booking.com off the list for now, even if it is fixed ( I do not want to go through this pain again). This is a painful way to solve the problem because you have to re-input the passwords for all of your apps and email again, but you do end up with an iPad that works, just like new!  - safari is now working again perfectly and so are all of my hyperlinks in mail. This was my last resort solution after trying (for four hours last night!!!) all of the fixes published over the past few days.

HI, I have  same problems with Safari and emails. I downloaded Safe Browser from the Apps. I now route all my internet browsing and emails through Safe Browser and thankfully (so far!) it works. Hope this helps. I use iPad Air 2.

The problem with bumping it to the top, is that I don't know how much good this is doing now. I would have thought that an OS that has been in development for months, and was discovered to have a few bugs, could have been fixed within a couple of days.

I am no developer, so I assume that is a much more daunting task than I could have imagined. I also imagine they want to take the necessary steps to make sure they get it right this time.

I tried getting Demo's thread pinned to the top or at least a link to it. I checked out the ES-ASC today and they had the message below pinned at the top. We sure could use your help iver there..

I would much rather it be Apple posting something official - but something that actually works.

Yes, that is awat I would recommend. If you have not already updated, but the update has been pushed to your device you can delete it and wait for the fixed update. If the software has been downloaded to your device, go to Settings>General>Storage & iCloud Usage>Storage>Manage Storage. A list of all of your apps will load in the next window. Swipe until you see the IOS 9.3 software and you can tap on it and delete it from there.

THanks so much.  I have an Ipad Pro (12.9") due Friday. Tried to mark it helpful but for some reason I haven't been able to do that in these forums recently.

Does this download the 9.3 automatically after resetting, as I only have the 9.2.2? Also if you back up to iCloud, will it back up my photos as well? Sorry for sounding a bit dumb but still learning. Also which iPad was this on, I have an air 2

I Just keep getting the alert to update to 9.3, so I knock it off every time. Just shows what I know, I followed your advice and deleted it from storage.

Well thanks for that LOL.  I thought I had in the past but probably it was because I had started the thread.  Years off and on in these forums should have taught me something.  Unfortunately I only come when I'm looking for info for myself or friends.

THats ha it is supposed to work. You come here when you need help and then go back to enjoying your devices after you get the help that you need. Fools like me, try to hang around and help other people with their problems.

So would I. Since that wasn't going to happened I was hoping to keep the newest and best available info all in one place.

I started a thread in the FHB a few days ago linking to this thread and if you would stop in I'd like to thank you properly. Thank you.

You're wekcome. There is a new marking system for future use. If 5 users tap "this helped me" it gets marked helpful. A very ingenious idea.
