Mac cannot connect to Verizon Mifi or Personal iPhone Hotspot

I have a mac book air that cannot connect to my personal hotspot or my verizon mifi 6620L. For my home wifi, my mac works fine, and it does when I go to someone house or connect to the starbucks wifi. The computer connects to the hotspot/jetpack, but no internet connection is recived. It can't load any programs or sites. Both hotspots work fine and provide internet to other computers and iPhones. One thing that confuses me is that with both the mifi and the hotspot, when I connect through a USB, the internet works like it should. There is something wrong with it wirelessly connencting. I have restarted my computer and my phone, updated them to the latest software and restarted the wifi. I have also checked in the network settings for anything fishy, but everything looked fine. This is a huge problem for me because I use my mac on the go all the time, and there is often no good connection anywhere else. Please note that it has worked before. I don're remember exactly when it stopped working, but my computer has perviously connected and the internet has worked with both the hotspot and the mifi. Please help!!!!
