Q: wireless connection to my epson printer has failed again
...I had this problem several weeks ago and did all of the suggestions I could find.
- I tried the reset print system command
- deleted the printer folder in the library
- downloaded new printer software from epson
- hooked the printer up USB and reinstalled (the handbook said there was an option during the hardwired installation to go wireless, didn't ever see that) although I noticed when plugging the printer in via USB the bonjour printer showed up for a few seconds but not long enough to select it.
- epson no longer supports the printer!!!!!!
- shut every thing down router, printer, computer still didn't work after start up.
- tried to find some way of resetting the bonjour function on the macs but can't seem to find that.
- finally after resetting all the ip addresses on the router it worked for about 1 week. now it doesn't again.
- Tried setting the IP address on the printer manually, no help ,put it back to auto.
I don't think the problem is the printer cause it works on my iPhone, and from what I have read this has been a problem with mac software since 2008 at least. I can't remember the exact point that it started working again, it was late and I started to do a few face plants into the keyboard. I hope that isn't the answer.
