Apple watch does not pair with bluetooth headphones

Put the Apple watch on Airplane Mode. Then turn on bluetooth on the watch. NOW try and pair the headset - it should work. Once this is done, you can turn off Airplane mode and it will keep working.

Its an Apple watch bug that needs fixing.

You may find that you need to unpair your headphones from your iPhone (or any other device that they may already be paired with) before you can pair them with your watch. If they are already paired with your iPhone, for example:

- On your iPhone go to: Settings > Bluetooth.

- Find the headphones in the list, then tap on Forget this Device.

After preparing the headphones in this way, to pair Bluetooth headphones with your Apple Watch:

- Put your Bluetooth headphones into discovery / pairing mode (follow the manufacturer's instructions).

- On your Apple Watch, go to the Home screen (single press on the Digital Crown), then tap on Settings (the cog icon) > Bluetooth.

- Your watch will now search for Bluetooth accessories that are in discovery / pairing mode.

- Choose your Bluetooth headphones when they are shown.

- If asked, enter a passkey or PIN.

I just got my Apple Watch and same thing. On my iPhone i "forget this device" for my headphones. Turned off Bluetooth on iPhone and even shut it down. Nothing. Watch just searches. Interesting that as soon as i turned phone back on.... bluetooth on... it would'nt see headphones any more to pair. :/? Anyone have any luck pairing Apple Watch with bluetooth headphones? I don't want to take my phone on a walk! Should be easy.

tried all different ways to connect to my Watch it can see the Bose headphones but it just keeps searching once you click it. A lot of money spent and it's all just a waste if you can't get them all to talking.

I also have plantronics bluetooth headphones and have the same issue. Are you saying that the headphones can only be paired either with the Watch or the iPhone but not both?a I always have my iPhone with me and the Watch while running but sometimes when doing housework around the backyard, I would like to listen to music from my Watch with the bluetooth heaphones. thanks.

I tried all the other methods and ran across this fix on another message thread. Try toggling the airplane mode on and off on your watch immediately before trying to pair your headphones to your watch. It needs to be done with your phone out of range or with Bluetooth turned off. I have to do this every time I want to connect the headphones to the watch.

Until Apple fixes the bug, turn ON airplane mode on watch, THEN turn off. Try pairing.

It may also help, when trying to pair your headphones with your watch, to move both devices to a different location (away from any other Bluetooth devices that may be active) and to try again there.

This did not work for me. Another response on this thread did. That response said to toggle airplane mode on then off and try pairing. It worked.

What I have found helpful sometimes when the watch just won't pair is to put the watch in airplane mode and then take it out of airplane mode.
