In my case a reset Network seems to have fixed it for now.

Forget that, after a restart the problem returned.  Airplane mode keeps it on I've noticed and as I use the iPad Pro mainly at home, I'll leave it at that setting for now.   Must be a bug.  Glad I'm not alone.

Try rebooting your router.  That seems to have fixed it for me.  It was suggested in another thread as it cleans out the tables.

I've found what I think is a bug or a weird behavior of my iPad.

    Here's what's happening:

1.- I've discovered that if a reboot the device, the WiFi tab starts unchecked.

2.- Sometimes, if I uncheck it manually prior to the reboot, it starts checked.

3.- A reset of the network settings has helped me to solve another strange situation where I couldn't delete any app,  the auto-lock function didn't work and even I couldn't log in into the AppStore once logged out.

4.- Although the reset of the network settings worked fine, and I think that it has solved the WiFi uncheck issue during a session, there's something with the network settings in this iOS10 version which produces collateral problems in my device. I have to reset them each time I reboot my iPad in order to get rid of the other issues.

P.S.: The reboot of the router didn't change the situation

Same here with iPad Air 2 After upgrading to iOS 10.  Connected and working fine then nothing. Check and wifi has turned itself off.  Turn on and reconnects instantly.  After a bit turns itself off again.  Very annoying.

apple ! The answer to the question 1. Dose not explane why it's haponing nor what exactly coursing the isue .

i Never had the isue on my iPad untill today , and the network is up and running , my android devices have not got this isue , nor any other wifi device on my network

just your iPad Apple has this isue now , nothing's changed on the network ,

so Apple you need to investigate the isue , as it just ant me having this isue ,,,to flog it off and say just reset network setting is an insult to any network tech out in the world.

the couse is ? Find it fix it and explane it

MY spouse and I both have iPad pros.  Both were updated same day to latest ISO mine began turning off wifi, tried all the Apple suggestions resets, reconnects, and rebooting the problem became worse turning every off every two minutes, I tried suggestion from Drawbridge35 turned on airplane mode then turned on wifi, connected, then tuned off airplane mode. Problem has not reoccurred in last 24 hours.  Thanks Drawbridge35 and whom ever suggested this originally.

Hi. There are quite a few suggestions in this thread, which appear to work for some users. Have you tried any of them?

I spoke on the telephone to a person at Apple about this issue yesterday.  He told me to check my setting for the WiFi Assist switch setting (Settings, Cellular Data, scroll to the very bottom of the right hand half of the page -- you should see the Wi-Fi Assist switch).  My guess is if you are having this problem this switch is turned on (Green).  Turn this switch to off position, and if you are not currently using a cellular data plan, turn the Cellular Data switch to off.

For me this solved the problem.

What is happening when this switch is on if the Wi-Fi signal strength drops below a certain level the iPad turns off the Wi-Fi and uses Cellular Data to continue the connection.  That is why the Wi-Fi switch is being turned off.

He was able to arrive at this solution because I told him I had tried using the Airplane and Wi-Fi both on suggestion and it appeared to be working.  I think this turned on a light bulb for him helping him realize what might be happening.

    Anyway, give this a try.

Thank you so much to Brandon at Apple for hopefully finding this solution for us.

That switch was already off in my settings.   Support suggested I signed on (again) with Beta and download  iOS 10.1.

I told them I'd wait until it's generally released.  I once used the Beta service but had too many crashes to care continuing with it.

I'm having a similar situation as well, but I'm finding that my wifi doesn't reconnect when turning the iPad Air 2 on in the morning. I never turn the wifi off. its always on, but some mornings it doesn't reconnect.

(I haven't had it drop like you have - at least not yet)

I have also found (when its like this) i can not delete any apps?

They will "jiggle" and the x is in the top left of the icon but when you press it......nothing.

I can still delete apps through Settings->Storage.

Turning the iPad either back off/on or resetting does seem to help, but its still weird why the wifi should just not reconnect.

I do use Touch ID and have turned that off this morning to see if its something there that might be doing it.

We may have more than one topic going on here.  I am presuming that the problem is that you notice that the Wi-Fi indicator on the top left of your screen has disappeared, and when you go to Settings and select Wi-Fi you discover that the switch has been turned off.  Turning it back on resolves the issue for a short time, but the problem returns after a little while.

I am also presuming that people who are having this problem have an iPad with both Wi-Fi and Cellular not a Wi-Fi only iPad.  If this information matches your problem and equipment, I think it is likely that how the Cellular Data function is being handled is the culprit.  Try either the Airplane mode suggestion or the Wi-Fi Assist suggestion (above) and see if that resolves the issue.

I do not have this problem on my iPad mini or my 2 iPod touch devices which do not have cellular capabilities.

At least with all of this discussion we should get Apple's attention eventually and the programmers will devise a software fix to make our lives easier.
