HULU not allowing login on Apple TV4

I have a HULU subscription which I bought directly on the Apple TV from iTunes. After installing tvOS 9.2 the HULU fatally crashed and I had to reinstall it. When login in I am choosing the 'bought on iTunes' option but I receive an error messages telling me that in-app purchases are not allowed.

How can I recover my HULU account? Since I haven't purchased the subscription via HULU I don't have a dedicated login and password for HULU.

I see that you have an issue with the Hulu app you purchased from the App Store on your AppleTV 4. Take a look at the following article for some suggestions to try to sort out what might be going on. Don't overlook the "Get help" section at the bottom if necessary.
