Slow internet on computer but not iOS

My internet connection to my computer is extremely slow (2-10 mbps), on multiple browsers tested, should be closer to 50 mbps. But when I test using my iPad or iPhone, it is much higher -- 30 - 40 mbps. Any ideas for troubleshooting?

I have tried rebooting to safe mode, using Disk Utility repair, etc. Slow with all 3 browsers (Safari, Chrome, and Firefox). Done all the usual reboot router (Airport Express) and modem, but since the iOS devices are running fine, I don't think that's the issue.

I have a MacBook Pro Retina with 16 mb ram running OS X 10.10.5.

Is your MBP in about the same location as your iDevices? (meaning the Wifi network/connection isn't going through too many walls, metal (refrigerator and such), etc). And, in case your model still has an ethernet port, have you tried checking the speed hooked up with the cable rather than wirelessly?

Same spot. No ethernet on my MBP, unfortunately. Slow speeds occur right next to the router and modem, so no walls to deal with.

are you running any Mac Anti-Virus, Firewall and/or 3rd party network or system utility (little snitch, clean my mac, mac keeper)

if so remove them now.

remove them with prejudice if possible.

Fixed.

I was not running any anti-virus, firewall, etc.

Upon research, it looked like a PRAM re-set might do the trick. Which it did. Should have thought of that originally, but didn't think that would be an issue.
