Problem just started occurring again

Still no TV series for me on Apple TV 4, everything else works.

I decided to hook up my old apple TV 3 so I can watch my TV series 😟

I get the same error message described in the first post when I try to open a TV series: an unexpected error has occurred

So I can't even get to the page of the TV show so I can select an episode:

- I choose a show from my purchased TV series list,

- I get a screen with the title of the show and a spinning wheel,

- And then only the error message with a dismiss button under it

Same problem here. They must have changed something yesterday again! Apple say I need to replace my whole Apple TV uni to fix this.

I am getting this error too. I searched for a title in TV Shows and wanted to buy an episode, I got "Unexpected Error Occurred." Does Apple actually look at these forums or is this just a place to moan? It is hard to believe that countless people have been having this problem for this many months and nothing was done about it.

If you are looking for some help, the best way would be to post a new question for your specific problem. Try to give the most details you can about what happens and what you've already tried. Since this is likely a network problem (i.e. server connection failure), give the details of your network setup, including DNS, unblocker, VPN, etc.

Same issue, has nobody above done anything to resolve this issue or has it been fixed by magical Apple fairies?

mine is doing the exact same thing mostly from a series where a new show in that series come out and only certain ones. I can't find any fix for it happens on all the apple tv's I have.

IM having this issue still and it's fairly persistent. Tried the usual suspects like checking for updates and restarting the device. I have latest Apple TV.

Same problem here today. Better Caul Sall and several other series doesn't launch properly.

The only fix i found is to use SIRI. If i says : Better Caul Saul season 2, it launch well.

However, as a french user, Better Caul Saul is 90% detected as "Better Col Sol" and SIRI don't understand, this is very annoying.

For a device at this price, Apple, we deserve more than that.

Same experience here... I found five movies that won't play so far.

I spent an hour with apple care on the phone last night and they seemed unable to help. The last person, of at least six, was not able to help and promised to call me back when they had a solution. Ouch!

I remain hopeful.

I'm having the same problem. It only happens with some titles, and the same titles play from iTunes on a MacBook logged in with the same account. I've logged out and back in on the AppleTV, reset, etc., none of which have helped. I just purchased again expecting a zero charge, but will have to wait and see once iTunes emails the receipt to me. If nothing else, I'll have to request a refund for purchase #2...

I'm having the exact same issue with my Apple TV 4th Gen running the most recent OS. I've tried signing in and out of my Apple TV, restarting it etc. and still no luck. This error is occurring with between 25-35% of the movies that I have bought from iTunes. These same movies play back flawlessly over my iPhone 7 Plus, MacBook Pro Retina and Apple TV 3rd Gen. I contacted support already but have now been told to contact the technical support team which is what I am about to do. I'm not impressed.

The Dark Knight and Thor both get that same error for me. They're playable on my iPhone and iPad but not on Apple TV.
