Q: dropped some mozzarella water on my Iphone 6s...

Hi,
So, I was cooking, with my Iphone 6s by my side...suddenly, I dropped some mozzarella water on the top of the phone (including the front camera + the other 2 holes). It was not more than half of a shot glass (I don't know what other way I could use to describe the quantity haha).
I quickly removed the water, turned my phone off, cleaned the holes with a Q-tip and put it in rice, upside down.
I already did the "rice trick" before with two different Samsungs (that shut down before I even could do anything) and it always worked (one is even 4 years old and is still used by my mom). The thing is that both those times, my phone fell in plain water.
I am afraid that the ph of mozzarella water is different....Do you think my phone will survive? Should I do something more? What about garanty (my phone is 2 months old...)
Thank you in advance for your answer

It usually takes a while for the rice to absorb water. I would turn it off immediately and leave it for a day at least. Turning it on while any water remains can short it out. You might try reading this, too:   Liquid damage to iPhone or iPod isn't covered by warranty - Apple Support

Leave it for a week, then turn it on.

You have cause damage to the iPhone by turning it on while it was still wet. Take it to your local Apple Store and ask them to examine it. They will most likely suggest you purchase an out of warranty replacement for it.

Unfortunately iPhone is not waterproof. You are lucky one if it still works after contact with water. Usually phones and water do not mix and water damage is not covered by warranty. Corrosion has already started.  You should schedule a genius appointment at the Apple Store to appraise the level of damages. They will offer you the best solution.

if water goes inside a phone do not even turn it on, if it is an iPhone turn it off, since you can take off the battery, just enclose the iPhone inside an hermetic bag filled with those water absoption beads or spheres I don't know what they are, but they work so nice if you let the iphone inside for a week or less. you should buy one of those iphone protective case that work against shock and water for no more unexpected water intrusion inside so conveniently vulnerable places....

I actually turned it off a few seconds after it got wet and turned it on again after a couple of hours in a plastic bag full of rice. I might just leave it there for a few days to see if it changes something.

Actually, it had a protectice case and a protective screen when it happened.

oh man, that sounds bad because protective cases should do their protection thing, but yeah just leave it inside the rice all turned off, in your next chance change some rice for some silica gel, it will be more better.... more better... that's not as grammar works... :-/
...I wish you luck... give us feedback if you can!

OH! if you still have apple warranty you should go for it, because they can open your phone to dry it out maybe... I don't recommend to do this for yourself, you'll probably end up with a cool brick or paperweight, and don't ley some one unauthorized by apple do it neither... cuz you'll lose warranty if you still have some

Well, I guess protective cases don't really like mozzarella water... Thank you for your answer, I will definitely give a feedback

That is too late. Once you turned on the power you damage it internally. Get it replaced.

Even it does start working, it will stop in the future after the corrosion sets in from the moisture.

You seem to be an expert : my phone is only 2 months old, I have Apple Care and an extra insurance (that normally covers water damages). Should I contact my insurance first or go to an Apple Store first ?

Talk to the insurance company and ask them how they wish to handle the problem then do whatever they say.

So guys, my phone is perfectly fine. I left it in the rice for 2 days, the liquid captors are white (never got red actually), the crackeling sound is gone (and it was crackeling just a little, I tend to panic quite easily and exagerate things sometimes) and it is perfectly charging and working.
And I am quite sure that corrosion has not done anything : my colleague had a whole cup of coffee (with sugar) poured on her phone and it has been working for the last 2 years (after she left her phone in rice for a couple of days). I just had maybe 2ml of mozzarella water poured on my phone which is NOTHING (and as I already said, I panic quite easily) ...
    So yeah, there is hope
