how do i delete mega backup when it says its "in use" but its not?

The application is set to automatically launch at startup, which is why you can't remove it.


Here are things to try:


Go to System Preferences -> Users & Groups -> <your account> -> Login Items


If Mega Backup is listed there, uncheck it, then reboot. Now it shouldn't be running and you can delete it.


if it's not in Login Items, use /Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor and look for the process listed there. Double-click it in the list, then click the 'Quit' button. Now you should be able to delete it.


If neither of these two work, post back and we can dig a little deeper.
