Mar 28, 2016 2:38 PM in response to Manurivercarrasby theratter,It is common practice for each provider to make their own policy regarding unlocking a device from their service. This is not really a topic suitable to these forums. We don't set such policies and neither does Apple nor do we know what the provider must do to unlock a phone and how that may relate to remaining time under any existing contract, etc. Take the matter up with your provider.

Mar 28, 2016 2:39 PM in response to Manurivercarrasby seventy one,There is a difference between a formal Apple store and an authorised service provider. The later is a private business and I believe they are allowed to charge whatever they wish for their service. The former have a price list depending on their country. Typically, I recently noted the new Apple SE iPhone was 25%+ more in England than the USA.

Mar 28, 2016 3:47 PM in response to Manurivercarrasby BobTheFisherman,Please describe how your computer is locked. Is it that you forgot the user password or is there a firmware password you can't remember? Or have you locked your computer some other way?

Mar 28, 2016 4:02 PM in response to Manurivercarrasby BobTheFisherman,If you can't remember your passcode after locking it using Find My Mac you have no choice but to take the computer and proof of ownership to an authorized Service Provider. What the Service Provider charges is pretty much up to them. Find another Service Provider in your area. Maybe their price will be more agreeable to you.
