Another option would be Rebuild The Mailbox or Reindex messages or Reindex messages (2) see post by Linc Davis.

i go to icloud.com and tried to check my mail it always says there is an error on it

Deselect the box next to Mail then reselect it.
Then try accessing your mail.
It may take a minute or two for iCloud to re sync the data.
